MRC · Board-level console repair

Console repair diagnosis and quote before work begins.

Start with a free intake assessment so MRC can decide whether to accept your PlayStation, Xbox or Nintendo Switch. If accepted, we perform a proper diagnostic and provide a quote before any repair work begins.

Describe your consoleThe intake assessment determines acceptance; it is not the repair diagnostic.

01 / Faults

Faults we assess

For an accepted repair, we diagnose the actual console and confirm the fault before quoting repair work.

HDMI, power and no-boot

No picture over HDMI, no power, no-boot and related board faults are considered after safe bench checks.

Disc, slot and storage

Disc drives, game-card slots and related board-level faults may be assessed when parts and test access are available.

Heat and physical damage

Corrosion, connector damage, failed power paths and other physical damage can be assessed when donor or new parts and safe test access exist.

02 / Board-level scope

Board-level scope

We consider supported PlayStation, Xbox and Nintendo Switch / handheld consoles at board level. Laptop GPU repair and phone repair are outside this intake. Support depends on the exact model, condition, donor or new-part availability and safe test access.

  • Electrical diagnosis and power-rail fault isolation
  • HDMI, power, disc/slot and no-boot board work
  • Microsoldering, connector and PCB trace work
  • Component replacement when diagnosis supports it
  • Functional testing as the console allows

What we do not claim

  • A symptom alone does not prove that a specific chip is bad.
  • A repair attempt or component replacement is never presented as a guaranteed cure.
  • Laptop GPU repair and phone repair are outside this intake unless accepted in writing.
  • Do not bake, heat-gun or ship the console before we review its history and exact model.

03 / Process

Assessment, diagnosis, quote and repair

  1. 1

    Submit an intake assessment

Send the manufacturer, model, symptoms and all prior repair history so we can decide whether to accept the job.

  2. 2

    Receive an acceptance decision

If the console fits our scope, we send drop-off or shipping instructions. Do not send it before acceptance.

  3. 3

    Diagnostic and quote

After the accepted console arrives, we perform a proper diagnostic and provide a quote. No repair work begins without your approval.

  4. 4

    Approved repair and testing

After quote approval, we perform the agreed repair, test the console as the hardware allows and arrange its return.

04 / Console Certification

Console Certification

Console Certification helps validate marketplace and other aftermarket purchases. For $50 CAD plus tax, we compare an accepted used console with its listing and expected reference configuration and record factual observations about its identifiers, model, required chip population, board and other required assemblies. This can reveal missing, substituted or changed chips and other discrepancies used in deceptive online sales. We also attempt to boot the console on the shop testing rig. The certification states only facts observed on the inspected console; it does not state that the console meets OEM standards and cannot determine seller intent, ownership or make a legal finding of fraud.

  • Required chips and assemblies are documented against the expected console configuration
  • If the console boots, you receive a written shop-rig test report with the checks completed and observed results
  • Not a repair diagnostic; no claim of OEM compliance, authenticity, performance, warranty or absence of latent faults
  • Shipping, repair and parts are extra; the certification fee is non-refundable once checking begins

Send enough detail for us to decide whether to accept the job. This intake assessment is not the repair diagnostic. If accepted, we send instructions; after the console arrives, we diagnose it and provide a quote before repair work begins.
